Adult Chess Class

We have chess classes for groups of adults at a variety of levels.  Classes can take place in a retirement center, any home or community room.   We have worked with the Office of Aging and Senior Centers to develop unique programs.  Most classes contain eight adults of similar abilities.  We also have Zoom classes for adults using two instructors.  Classes are made for players 21 years old.  We have had handicapped assessable locations for players as old as 85 years old.  This is a class for adults with little to no experience.   We have several options for everyone.

Methods of Presentation

  • A group of 4 to 8 adults meet at a residence.  There are two instructors, one on location and one remote using zoom.  Each student has lessons with both instructors during the class meeting.

  • A group of 2 to 6 adults of similar ability meet with one instructor and get time to play each other.

  • The group of 4 to 8 adults meet online Zoom along with two instructors, usually for two hours at a time.  All the lessons are done remotely.
