Quebec and Ontario

Sixty-two percent of the population in Canada is found in Quebec or Ontario. Of the ninety percent of Canada’s population that is found within 150 miles of the United States border, seventy-five percent of these live in the region. 

Quebec is a French province where French is spoken as the primary language in 84 percent of all the homes but most are bilingual. The Quebec Islands of Magdelen can be found in the Atlantic Canada section because it is in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

In Ontario, only 4 percent of the people speak French.  The largest city in Canada is Toronto, Ontario with a population of 2.8 million. 

Weather: The area around Quebec receives 162 inches of snow per year.   Areas east of Lake Huron can get over 200 inches of Lake Effect snow per year.  Thunder Bay in Ontario is the coldest area with lows approaching -5 Fahrenheit.
