This area of Central America is very warm and tropical. This area is known for rich Mayan culture and colonial history. There are problems in some areas because of numerous conflicts and crime.
Guatemala currently has a level three travel advisory. Travel is not recommended due to high crime. Belize has a level two travel advisory. Although not as risky as Guatemala, caution is still advised. Do not travel on the south side of Belize City.
