Countries in the Nile region have special access to major transportation hubs by using the Nile River and the Red Sea.  The Suez Canal in Egypt is a key point that connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.   Ancient civilizations were developed in this area.  Egypt is one of the oldest civilizations in the world that was founded in 3100 BC.
