The Music Education Resource

This unusual music site contains basic unique musical information, instruments, and composers.   Thirty-six musical instruments are subdivided into five basic types.  Their cost is shown for beginner purchases.  Overviews of selected composers of all genres are included.   Twelve musical composers before the 20th century are selected according to their contribution to the musical history.  Twenty modern composers and groups are selected according to their type of music and popularity.  All information about the composers are published according to the fair use act for educational purposes only.  No profit is received for any of the information.

The cost of musical instruments varies greatly according to professional quality.  Top of the line Oboes can cost over $14,000 and high-end bassoons can cost up to $70,000,   The costs listed below are average prices a beginner student would pay for one of the cheapest basic instrument models that are high enough quality to play in a band.  These prices are current as of 2026.
